Jony Oktavian Haryanto was born at Semarang city, Indonesia, 10th October, 1978. He got his bachelor degree in marketing from Satya Wacana Christian University, Salatiga, Indonesia, at 2000. He also hold Master degree in Marketing from Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, at 2002. He then furthered his study at University of Indonesia, Jakarta, Indonesia for Ph.D. in marketing at 2008. Jony (jony.haryanto @president.ac.id) is currently Secretary General of Yayasan Pendidikan Universitas Presiden. Prior to this position, Jony was Rector at President University, Cikarang, Indonesia. Prior to joining President University, Jony is the head of research department at Satya Wacana Christian University. Starting October 2022, Jony also serves as Expert Staff for Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Republic Indonesia.
His research focuses on marketing to children, relationship marketing, and consumer behavior. Jony has published his work at International Journal of Market Research, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Business Research, ASEAN marketing journal, Asia Pasific Journal of Marketing Logistics, etc.
