Professor Sang Min Park is specialized in health system data science using health big data and epidemiologic simulation modeling, and health promotion for vulnerable population such as cancer survivors, elderly and migrants such as North Korean defectors settled in South Korea. He is currently leading the health system data science lab at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, and is a vice director of Institute for Health and Unification Studies of Seoul National University (SNU). He is also specialized in explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) in medicine to interpret deep learning “black box” algorithms and to explore the social, theoretical, empirical, and causal perspectives of “explainability” in medical AI.
