Kim Byung-il is currently in charge of Dosanseowon Confucian Academy in Andong, where Toegye was enshrined, and Wolbongseowon Confucian Academy in Gwangju, where Gobong Daegiseung was enshrined. In early 2008, he came down to Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and served as the chairman of the Dosan Seowon Seonbi Culture Training Center, and he mainly lives in Dosan, Toegye\'s hometown. In the meantime, he has served as the president of the Korea Institute of Korean Studies and a chair professor at Yeungnam University, and is a chair professor at Keimyung University. Kim Byung-il completed his studies at Seoul National University\'s Graduate School of History and Public Administration, He served as the Director of Statistics, Public Procurement, Vice Minister of Planning and Budget, Monetary Policy Committee, Minister of Planning and Budget, and received an honorary doctorate in philosophy from Keimyung University.
