Dr. Heo is Professor of Int’l Trade at Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS), Sogang University, Korea. He currently serves as Director of Sogang World Trade Institute. He has been a policy consultant for the World Bank, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Ministry of Economy and Finance of Korea on international policy issues including trade negotiations. In 2018, he led Korean Association of Trade and Industry Studies, a major academic society in the trade area. He also served as a board member of Korean Economic Association (2019-20) and National Research Council under the office of Prime Minister (2016-19). From 2014 to 2016, he was a member of National Economic Advisory Council for the President of Korea. Prof. Heo recently published a book entitled, Free Trade and the US-China Trade War by Routledge in UK.
