Biography

Keiki Kato has been a faculty member at Hitotsubashi University since 2015. He specializes in modern Korean history and Japanese imperialism and colonialism. His major publication is Kami ni egaita Hinomaru(Iwanami Shoten), which describes the reality of colonial Korea from a people\'s history perspective. He is also interested in the issue of Japanese military sexual slavery, and served as the executive director of the movement to support Honorary Professor Yoshiaki Yoshimi in his trial against a member of the Diet who claimed Yoshimi\'s findings about Japan’s wartime \'comfort women\' were fabricated. He also publishes and gives lectures to help the Japanese people understand their responsibility for colonial rule over Korea.
