Dr. Son is a research scientist at Jeju Research Institute. He received his Ph.D. degree in Transportation Engineering from Old Dominion University, Virginia, USA, in 2013, and his M.S. and B.S. degrees from Ajou University, Suwon, South Korea, in 2006 and 2004, respectively. His research interests are travel and activity behavior, travel survey methods, transit-oriented development, electric vehicles, computational statistics, and econometrics. He has published over 30 journal and conference papers, as well as 10 technical reports. He is a member of the Jeju Self-special Governing Province Transportation Policy Committee and Jeju Self-special Governing Province Electric Vehicle Policy Committee. He conducts several transportation projects and leads the Jeju Electric Vehicle Policy Research Center.
