Biography
Sergei Sevastianov is currently a Professor, International Relations Chair, and Director, Asia Pacific International Institutions & Multilateral Cooperation Studies Center, at the Oriental Institute - School of Regional and International Studies, Far Eastern Federal University, Vladivostok, Russia. Prior to joining FEFU in 2012, he had been Vice President for International Relations and Professor of International Relations at Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service.
Professor Sevastianov is an expert in Asia Pacific international relations and represents the Russian epistemic community in several INGOs, such as the Northeast Asia Cooperation Dialog, Northeast Asia Economic Forum, etc. He actively participates in international research projects studying multilateral and bilateral cooperation models in regional security and economics. He has more than 80 publications in Russia and abroad (USA, Japan, ROK, UK), including three book-length monographs on models of East Asian regionalism and regionalization
Sergei Sevastianov holds a M.S. degree in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University, Washington, D.C., USA, and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), Moscow, RF. He is a member of the International Studies Association.
