Alland Dharmawan is from Indonesia and has always been passionate about the environment and sustainability. After Alland completed his Bachelor’s degree in International Marketing Management from Universitas Ma Chung in Malang, Indonesia, the Confucius Institute awarded him a scholarship to study the Chinese Language at Xiamen University, China. Alland is fluent in Indonesian, English, and Chinese. In 2020, he completed his graduate law degree (LL.M.) in International Relations under the Xiamen University scholarship. He is currently a Graduate Student at Yonsei University Graduate School of International Studies, majoring in International Cooperation, and is interested in conducting policy analysis on South Korea’s Green New Deal Policy and exploring the possibilities for Indonesia to adopt the policy to boost renewable energy utilization in the country. Alland is also a YSEALI Fellow, having completed his fellowship at the University of Montana in the US at the invitation of the US Department of State in May 2022, where he learned about environmental conservation and sustainability. He is working with his teammates at “아이 World,” an initiative to create a more child-friendly and sustainable city. Alland looks forward to attending the 19th Jeju Forum and learning from fellow young leaders who share the same passion as he for making the world a better place.
