Laurent Goetschel is director of Swisspeace and professor of political science at the University of Basel. He has been a visiting scholar at Harvard University and Columbia University as well as senior fellow with the European Institute for Peace in Brussels. He previously also worked as a journalist with the Associated Press and as a political advisor to the Swiss Foreign Minister. He is a member of the Swiss Commission for Research Partnerships with Developing Countries.
