Biography
Brandon Friedman is the Director of Research at the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies (MDC), Tel Aviv University (TAU). Brandon is the Managing Editor of the journal Bustan: The Middle East Book Review. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in modern Middle East history in the Faculty of the Humanities. His research interests include contemporary Saudi Arabia, regional politics, the history of nuclear weapons, and the political history of great power competition in the Middle East. Brandon’s first book, The End of Pax Britannica in the Persian Gulf, 1968-1971, focused on the political relations between the rulers of the Gulf littoral during the period of British military withdrawal from the region.
