Biography
Brittany Tom is an award-winning journalist and field producer currently at Dateline NBC and NBC News. She produces long-form investigative, crime, and special interest reports for NBC News' national long-form news programs. Her most notable projects include Life Inside, a documentary about Angola, the country's largest maximum-security prison. She also co-produced a documentary on Los Angeles' homeless crisis, City of Angels, which earned a news and documentary Emmy nomination. Before working at NBC News, Ms. Tom was part of the launch team at Al Jazeera America in New York, where she covered domestic and international breaking news. While in that role, she wased as a network ambassador and traveled to the Al Jazeera English headquarters in Doha, Qatar. Ms. Tom earned her bachelor's degree in media studies from the University of California, Berkeley, with a minor in global poverty and practice.
