Biography
He is an associate professor at Hanshin University's College of Peace and Liberal Arts and received his master's and doctoral degrees from the Department of Sociology at Seoul National University. He conducted a study to understand the war and violence that occurred during the breakup of the Japanese Empire in East Asia from the point of view of ‘violence that begets the state’ rather than ‘violence of the state’. His major books include 『Besieged Peace, Refraction of War Memories: A Study on the Naval Port City of Kure in Hiroshima Bay』 (co-author), 『Road to Okinawa』, 『Boundary Island, Okinawa: Memory and Identity』 (co-author), 『 The Rebirth of Geummun Island, an Island of the Cold War (co-translator), and many other studies.
