Biography
그는 경희대학교 영어영문학교 교수이다. 카네기멜론대학교에서 문학 및 문학 이론 프로그램으로 박사 학위를 받았다. 그의 저술은 환경 문학과 생태 비평 분야를 중심으로 이루어졌으며, 미국인임에도 미제국주의를 비판하는 연구도 하였다. 주요 연구로는 “이야기로서의 동굴: 제주 4·3 사건과 미제국주의” 등 다수가 있다.
He is a professor at Kyunghee University's School of English Language and Literature. He received his PhD in Literature and Literary Theory from Carnegie Mellon University. His writings have been focused on environmental literature and ecological criticism, and even though he is an American, he also criticized American imperialism. Major studies include “Caves as Storied Matter: The Jeju April 3 Events and U.S. Imperialism” and many others.
