NAKANO Toshio is an expert and educator on social theory and social thought. After becoming an associate professor of the history of social thoughts at Ibaraki University in 1989, he became a professor of sociology at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies in 1996 and served as the dean of the Graduate School of Global Studies in 2006. As an individual author, he has authored numerous papers, such as “Max Weber and the Modern World”, "Otsuka Hisao and Maruyama Masao" and “Poetry and War”.
