
Biography
Tae Kun Kim is a principal researcher, and director of the National Climate Technology Center (NCCC) at Green Technology Center (GTC), a government-funded research institute of science and technology. He holds his M.A. (Master of Arts) and Ph.D in Sociology from the University of Münster (Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster in Germany) 2012. He was the team member and leader of the administrative management division at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) Europe in Germany from 2011 to 2014. Affiliated with GTC, he had his secondment at the National Research Council of Science & Technology (NST) as a head of the international cooperation team 2017-2018. His research focuses on international cooperation tackling with climate crisis with the interdisciplinary approach of social and engineering science: US and China’s climate change policies, science diplomacy in the context of climate change, strategy planning of technology international cooperation, Green New Deal ODA, etc. His interests are communication and cooperation for better living together in the era of the climate crisis, engaging with climate technology policies and frameworks like governance and appropriate technology.
