Biography
이탁건은 유엔난민기구 한국대표부에서 법무담당관으로 재직 중이다. 유엔난민기구 이전 공익변호사로 난민 및 이주민 권리 옹호를 위해 일해왔다. 이탁건은 이주민/난민 비차별, 보편적출생신고제도, 이주민/난민 아동 권리, 취약한 난민신청자 보호 등을 위해 일해왔거나 현재 일하고 있다. 대한변호사협회 난민이주외국인특별위원회 간사로도 재직 중이다.
이탁건은 2013년 법학전문석사 학위를 수여받고, 같은 해 변호사 자격, 2015년에 미국 캘리포니아 주 변호사 자격을 취득하였다.
"Takgon Lee is an associate legal officer working at UNHCR Korea. Before joining UNHCR, he worked as a public interest lawyer focusing on rights of refugees and migrants. He has and/or is actively participating in legal advocacy and policy reform for non-discrimination of migrants and refugees, universal birth registration, rights of migrant/refugee children, protection of vulnerable asylum seekers, among others. He also serves as the secretary in the Refugees and Migrants Special Committee of the Korean Bar Association.
Takgon received Juris Doctor in Korea on 2013, was admitted into Korea Bar Association on 2013 and California Bar Association on 2015.
