Biography
현지홍은 1981년 3월 1일 대한민국 제주도 출생으로 현재 제주특별자치도 12대 도의원이다.
현지홍 의원은 문재인 대통령 재임 기간에 대한민국 청와대에서 행정관을 지냈으며, 행정관을 지내는 동안 대한민국의 “국책 사업에 따른 갈등관리” 업무를 담당했다. 특히, 대한민국의 갈등 문제에 적극적으로 임하며 대한민국 제주도 강정해군기지 건설로 인한 강정마을회 갈등 해결을 위해 많은 노력을 했다.
그 이후 갈등 문제에 관심을 갖게 되었으며 정치를 통한 갈등관리의 중요성을 알리는 등 정당인으로서 활동을 계속하고 있다.
현재는 제12대 제주특별자치도의회 보건복지안전위원회 의원으로 장애인 차별 등 사회 갈등 문제를 위해 고민하고 있다.
Mr. Ji Hong Hyun, born in Jeju in 1981, is a committee member of the 12th provincial council of the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. Hyeon used to serve as an administrative officer at the Presidential Office (Cheongwadae) of the Republic of Korea under President Moon Jae-in and worked in the area of conflict management for national projects. During his term as an officer, he played an active role and had remarkable achievements in resolving conflicts around the Gangjeong Village Community Center due to the establishment of the Gangjeong Naval Base in Jeju. This triggered his interest in conflict issues and made him continue his career as a politician by promoting the importance of conflict management through politics. That has led him to become a member of the 12th Health, Welfare, and Society for the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province while he still focuses on social conflict issues.
