Biography
선우 석호 교수는 한국의 최대 금융그룹인 KB금융지주 이사회 의장으로서 KB금융그룹의 디지털 전환, ESG 경영, 글로벌화가 올바른 방향으로 추진될 수 있도록 방향타 역할을 수행하고 있다. 선우 석호의장은 1986년 미국 펜실베니아대학교 워튼스쿨에서 재무학 박사를 받은 이후 홍익대학교, 서울대학교 경영대학에서 강의와 연구를 해왔다. 그 동안 금융기관의 위험관리, 기업지배구조, M&A와 기업구조조정 등 분야에 연구와 자문을 수행했으며 ,, <재무관리>, <경영원론>등을 저술하였다. 아울러 재무 및 금융분야 학술단체인 사단법인 한국재무학회와 한국금융학회 회장직을 수행한 바 있다.
Professor Sukho Sonu, as the chairman of Board of directors of KB Financial Group which is largest in Korea, leads the group to make sure the group pursue strategic decisions in the right direction especially in the area of Risk management, Digital Transformation, ESG management and the global expansion. Chairman Sonu got Ph.D. degree in Finance at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 1986. As the professor of finance, he spent more than 30 years in research and teaching at Hongik University and Business School of Seoul National University. His research focused in the financial risk management, corporate governance and M&As. He also influenced academic society as the chairman of two major academic society, Korean Finance Association and Korea Money and Finance Association.
