Biography
Professor Sukho Sonu, as the chairman of the Board of directors of KB Financial Group which is the largest in Korea, leads the group to make sure that group pursues strategic decisions in the right direction, especially in the area of Risk management, Digital Transformation, ESG management and the global expansion. Chairman Sonu got a Ph.D. degree in Finance at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 1986. As a professor of finance, he spent more than 30 years in research and teaching at Hongik University and the Business School of Seoul National University. His research focused on financial risk management, corporate governance, and M&As. He also influenced academic society as the chairman of two major academic societies, the Korean Finance Association, and the Korea Money and Finance Association.
