Biography
이일 변호사는 비영리 공익변호단체인 공익법센터 어필(Advocates for Public Interest Law, 이하 APIL)에서 인권변호사로 근무하고 있습니다. 그의 업무는 주로 법적 옹호를 통해 한국에 있는 취약한 난민 신청자와 구금된 이주민의 권리를 옹호하는 데 중점을 두고 있습니다. 다년간 그는 난민인정 절차, 변호사 접견, 공항 및 국내 난민신청자에 대한 불법 구금 석방에 관한 많은 판례와 결정을 이끌어 냈고, 여러 전략적 소송 사건에서도 좋은 성과를 거두었습니다. 그는 난민법, 난민인정절차 등의 제도 개선과 난민을 낯설어 하는 한국 시민들의 인식 제고에도 주력해오고 있습니다. 그는 현재 한국의 난민인권네트워크의 의장이며 아시아태평양 난민권리네트워크의 동아시아 실무그룹 전 의장입니다. 그는 서울대학교 법학과를 졸업했고, 사법연수원 과정을 수료한 후 해군 법무관으로 복무했으며 2013년부터 대한변호사협회 회원이 되었습니다.

For many years, he has led many precedent judgments and decisions in the refugee recognition process, access to attorneys, and release from unlawful detention of asylum seekers at airports and domestically, and has also achieved good results in several strategic litigation cases.

After completing the courses of Judicial Research and Training Institute, he served Navy as a Military Advocate, and was admitted into Korea Bar Association on 2013."
