Biography
김현지는 시민사회 활동가로서 10년 가까이 동물권 분야에서 활약하고 있다. ‘비인간 동물’에게 더이상 미안하지 않은 세상을 빨리 앞당기길 원하는 ‘인간 동물’이기도 하다. 동물권행동 카라는 그가 희망을 갖고 헌신하고 있는 조직이며 동물들의 현실이 매우 열악한 대한민국에서 동물운동의 지평을 끊임없이 넓혀왔다. 김현지는 카라에서 다양한 법정책 캠페인을 수행해 왔으며 반려동물은 물론 길고양이, 농장동물, 전시/야생동물, 동물실험, 개식용 산업 철폐 등 여러 이슈에 개입하며 동물관련 법제 강화에 많은 노력을 기울여 왔다. 현재는 동물권행동 카라의 실장이자 파주에 소재한 카라의 동물보호소인 더봄센터를 총괄하며 마을 동물복지 사업을 펼쳐 나가고 있다.
