Biography
Dr. Jeongho Kim started his career as a veterinarian at Cheongju Zoo in 2001, where he is currently serving as director of animal management since 2016. His philosophy for the municipal zoo centers around the dedication to native wildlife conservation and the education of the general public. Many animals unable to be released into the wild have been brought into the custody of Cheongju Zoo, where they will be protected for life while educating visitors. He also participates in public talks at schools or civic groups about wildlife. He was featured in the documentary [garden, zoological, (2019)], and is a published author, [A Zoo without elephants, (2021)]. He was awarded the Ministry of Environment Citation Award in 2018 and the Presidential Citation in 2020 for his services to wildlife conservation.
