Biography
Choi Sang-koo was born on February 2, 1973, in Seoul, Korea, and started volunteering for KIN (Korean International Network) in 2011 and is currently the director. He met Sakhalin compatriots and made oral records, and in 2015 he published “Sakhalin, A Record of the History and Life of Koreans Rooted in a Frozen Island”. He created a ‘one and only calendar in the world’ that marked the lunar calendar, seasons, and Korean holidays on the Russian calendar, and delivered it to the Sakhalin compatriots. He is also continuing activities related to Koreans in Japan, such as the Utoro Village Resilience Movement, which KIN (Korean International Network) has been doing.
