Biography
Dr. Shinyo joined the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1972 and served for 40 years as a diplomat. After serving as Director-General of the Multilateral Cooperation Department he was appointed as Ambassador of Japan to the United Nations and finally Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany. He retired from the Ministry in 2012 and assumed the post of Vice-President of Kwansei Gakuin University (2012-2018). He is the author of many books on UN and Foreign Policy in the Japanese language. One of his books was translated into German and published under the title “Japans aussenpolitische Strategie in einer multipolaren Welt”, IUDICIUM Verlag, 2015. He speaks Japanese, English and German.
