Biography
우라타 슈지로는 와세다대학교 명예교수이다. 와세다 대학 아시아태평양대학원에서 국제경제학을 가르쳤다. 현재 아세안 동아시아 경제연구소(ERIA)의 선임연구자문역, 경제무역산업연구소(RIETI)의 전임연구원, 일본경제연구센터(JCER)의 특임연구원, 아시아개발은행연구소(ADBI) 방문연구원, 개발경제연구원(IDE-JETRO) 명예수석연구원으로 활동하고 있다. 우라타 교수는 게이오대학교 경제학 학사, 스탠포드대학교에서 경제학 석, 박사를 취득했다. 브루킹스연구소 연구원 및 세계은행 이코노미스트를 지냈다. 전문 연구 분야는 국제경제학으로 국제경제 이슈를 다룬 여러 저서 및 논문을 발표했다. 최근 저서로는 Achieving Inclusive Growth in the Asia Pacific(공동편저, 호주국립대출판부, 2020), Enhancing SME Participation in Global Value Chain(편저, 아시아개발은행연구소, 2021), Globalization and Its Economic Consequences: Looking at APEC Economies(공동편저. Routledge, 2021) 등이 있다.
Shujiro Urata is Professor Emeritus, Waseda University. He was Professor of International Economics, Graduate School Asia-Pacific Studies, Waseda University. He is currently Senior Research Advisor, Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), Faculty Fellow at the Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI), Specially Appointed Fellow at the Japanese Centre for Economic Research (JCER), Visiting Fellow, Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), and Distinguished Senior Fellow at the Institute of Developing Economies (IDE-JETRO). Professor Urata received his BA in Economics from Keio University, MA and Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University. He is a former Research Associate at the Brookings Institution, an Economist at the World Bank. He specializes in international economics and has published a number of books and articles on international economic issues. His recent books include Achieving Inclusive Growth in the Asia Pacific, co-editor, Australian National University Press, 2020, Enhancing SME Participation in Global Value Chains, editor, Asian Development Bank Institute, 2021, and Globalization and Its Economic Consequences: Looking at APEC Economies, co-editor.
