
Biography
Kayoung Ko is a HK Research Professor at the Seoul National University Asia Center. She got a B.A. at Ewha Womans University and an M.A. at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. She earned a Ph.D in History from Moscow State University in Russia. Her dissertation was on the Human Rights Movement in the Soviet. After the dissertation Her research area has been expanded to the history of Russian Jews, border region studies and Muslim in Central Asia. Her research interest also includes the migration history of Koryoin, ethnic Koreans reside in Central Asia . Her writings are as follows: “‘The Prague Spring’ in 1968 and the Resistance Movement in the Soviet,” “‘Red Jerusalem’: Birobidzhan, The Frustrated Jewish Republic in the Soviet,” “Andrei Sakharov's ‘Zapadnichestvo(Westernism)’ and Idea of Peace,” “The influence of the national and international conflict at the Ukrainian contact zone on the Korean individual life” etc.
