Gee-dong Lee is a chief research fellow at the Institute for National Security Strategy (INSS). He is the chairman of the Peace Law Committee of the Peaceful Unification Advisory Council and a member of the Ministry of Unification Advisory Committee. He is the president of the Korean Association of North Korean Studies this year. He was a former vice president of the INSS. Prior to joining the INSS, he served as a senior research fellow at the Korea Institute for National Unification (KINU), chairman of the North Korea Subdivision at the Korean Political Science Association (KPSA), and visiting professor at Keio University in Japan. His main area of research is North Korean politics and the military, and inter-Korean relations.
