Biography
김상기 연구위원은 중앙대학교에서 학사와 석사학위를 취득하고, 미국 아이오와 대학교에서 정치학 박사학위를 취득하였다. 경남대 극동문제연구소 연구위원을 거쳐, 현재 통일연구원에 재직중이다. 2019년 5월부터 2020년 6월까지는 통일부장관 정책보좌관으로 일한 바 있다. 주요 연구영역은 남북관계, 북미관계, 한반도 평화체제, 미국외교정책이다. 최근 주요 저서로는 『한반도 평화협정문 구상과 제안』(공저, 2019), 『한반도 평화체제 구축과 한미관계』(공저, 2018) 등이 있다.
Dr. Sang Ki Kim received his B.E. and M.A. at Chung-Ang University, and obtained his Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of Iowa, USA. He served as a research fellow at the Institute for Far Eastern Studies in Kyungnam University, and is currently a research fellow at Korean Institute for National Unification (KINU). He also worked as a policy advisor to the Minister of Unification from May 2019 to June 2020. Dr. Kim’s major research areas include inter-Korean relations, North Korea–U.S. relations, peace regime on the Korean Peninsula, and U.S. foreign policy. His recent publications are Plans and Suggestions for Peace Treaty on the Korean Peninsula (Co-authored, 2019, in Korean), Building Peace Regime on the Korean Peninsula and ROK-U.S. Relations (Co-authored, 2018, in Korean).
