Biography
Tomasz Wierzbowski has been actively engaged in various academic and business activities related to the European and the Korean Peninsula. He is currently an EURAXESS Korea Representative - EURAXESS is a European Commission initiative supporting researcher mobility and career development while enhancing scientific collaboration between Europe and the world. He also actively promotes the Horizon Europe program from the angle of mobility, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, and European Research Council schemes for knowledge exchange on research and innovation cooperation. Tomasz also serves as an adjunct professor in the Institute for EU Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul. Before joining the EURAXESS team, he managed a project for the EU-funded programs under FP7/Horizon 2020 schemes and monitored the Korean market as well as the overall macroeconomic and political situation on the Korean Peninsula for one of the European Member states. Tomasz holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and an MA in International Politics obtained at Sungkyunkwan University under a Korean Government Scholarship. He is focused on the Northeast Asia region and offers academic courses in International Relations and Comparative Politics. His scholarly interest lies also in the methodology of the social sciences.
