Biography
남정호는 중앙일보 논설위원을 지낸 뒤 2020년부터 중앙일보 칼럼니스트로 활동 중인 경력 33년째의 국제문제 전문 언론인이다. 89년 입사 이후 사회부, 정치부 기자를 거쳐 뉴욕ㆍ런던ㆍ브뤼셀 특파원을 지냈다. 서울대 경제학과를 졸업하고, 영국 런던정경대(London School of Economics)에서 국제관계학 석사, 고려대에서 유엔사령부에 관한 연구로 국제관계학 박사 학위를 받았다. 현재 이화여대, 광운대 겸임교수이며 유엔한국협회 산하 유엔글로벌연구센터장, 서울대 국제학연구소 자문위원, 아시아소사이어티 자문위원, 한러대화 사회언론분과 위원으로 일하고 있다. 과거 외교부 정책자문위원 및 자체평가위원, 관악언론인회 부회장으로도 일했다.

He is the Director of Center for UN and Global Studies, and teaching at Ewha Womans University, one of the most prestigious universities in Korea as well as Kwangwoon University using his expertise. His doctoral thesis was a research on the United Nations Command in Korea, which is becoming increasingly important. Mr. Nam received his Ph.D. degree in International Relations in 2021 and got M.Sc. in the same major from the London School of Economics in London (1986) and his B.A. in economics from the Seoul National University in Seoul (1985).
