Biography
Dr. Heung-Soon Park is vice president of the UNA-ROK, and Professor Emeritus, at SunMoon University (SMU). Specializing in the fields of the United Nations, multilateralism, Korean foreign policy, and peace and security on the Korean Peninsular, Prof. Park served as the chair or member of the academic and policy-making organizations, including the KACUNS, UNESCO-Korean Commission, policy advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the fellow at the US State Department, the Ralph Bunche Institute, and the ACUNS. Dr. Park has also participated in various international activities, like the UN, UNESCO, ASEF, and CSCAP. Prof. Park has published several books (「United Nations, Multilateral Diplomacy, and Korea」, 「UN and World Peace」) and numerous articles (“The DMZ and Peace on the Korean Peninsular” , and “East Asia and the Role of the UN” ). He has a wide experience of interacting with many universities as the Secretary–General of the Asia University Federation (AUF), while actively promoting the UN networks through the scholarly and youth programs in East Asia. Dr. Park studied at Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Columbia University and obtained a Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina, USA.
