Biography

Kyung-ok Do is a Director of the Peace Research Division at the Korea Institute for National Unification. She received her B.A. in Anthropology, LL.B., LL.M., and Ph.D. in International Law from Seoul National University and LL.M. from the University of Michigan Law School. She focuses on peace regime, sanctions, and human rights and has authored numerous books and articles, including Pathways to a Peaceful Korean Peninsula (KINU & Columbia Law School, 2016, co-author); The Impact of Sanctions on the Enjoyment of Human Rights (KINU, 2018, co-author); “A Two-phased Approach of the End-of-War Declaration and Peace Agreement” (Unification Policy Studies, 2019); A Study on the Conclusion of the Inter-Korean Framework Agreement (KINU, 2020, co-author) and “North Korea’s legislative response to COVID-19: a way forward or backward?” (Journal of Asian Public Policy, 2022, co-author).
