이양희 명예교수는 1991년부터 2021년까지 성균관대학교 아동·청소년학과에 재직하였으며 현재 대표/이사장으로 있는 국제아동인권센터의 설립자이다. 인권 분야에서 17년 이상의 경력을 가지고 있는 이양희 교수는 유엔아동권리위원회에서 위원으로 10년 간(2003-2013) 활동하며 두 번의 임기동안 위원장(2007-2011)을 역임하였다. 이후 2014년부터 2020년까지 유엔 미얀마 인권 특별보고관을 역임했다. 더불어 유엔 조약기구 위원회의 협의체 위원장(2010~2011)과 유엔 특별절차 조정 위원회 위원장(2016~2017)을 역임한 바 있다. 이양희 교수는 청원절차에 관한 아동권리협약의 제3선택의정서(OPIC)의 입안, 협상 및 채택을 주도했으며, 특별절차 메커니즘 내에서 미얀마 진상조사단(FFMM)과 미얀마 독립조사단(IIMM)을 설립하는 데 핵심적인 역할을 했다. 최근에는 미얀마 특별자문위원회(SAC-M)를 설립했다.

Professor Yanghee Lee is Professor Emeritus at Sungkyunkwan University, Department of Child Psychology and Education. She has founded and is current President of International Child Rights Center. Professor Lee has more than 17 years of experience in human rights: UN Committee for the Convention on the Rights of the Child for 10 years and has served as its chair for 2 terms (2007-2011). From 2014 until 2020 she served as the UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in Myanmar. Professor Lee has served as the Chairperson of Chairpersons of Treaty Bodies (2010 – 2011) as well as the Chairperson of the Coordinating Committee of Special Procedures of the United Nations Human Rights Council (2016-2017). She has been the guiding force in the drafting, negotiation, and adoption of the 3rd Optional Protocol to the CRC on a Communications Procedure. Within the Special Procedures Mechanism, Professor Lee has been instrumental in establishing the Fact- Finding Mission on Myanmar (FFMM) and the Independent Investigative Mechanism on Myanmar (IIMM). She has recently founded the Special Advisory Council for Myanmar (SAC-M).
