Biography
윤선희 소장은 2021년 7월 유엔세계식량계획(WFP) 한국사무소장에 임명되었다. 이전에는 2017년부터 WFP 레소토 국가사무소의 부소장을 역임했다. 윤선희 소장은 2002년 외교부 국제기구 초급전문가(JPO)에 합격하면서 처음 유엔에서의 커리어를 시작하였으며, 18년 동안 수단 및 남수단에서 지역본부장 특별보좌관 및 프로그램/파트너십 담당관을 (2005-2011), 로마 본부에서는 정부 파트너십 선임 팀장 및 수석 정책관 (2011–2013), 그리고 사무차장실장의 특별보좌관을 (2014–2017) 역임했다. 어린 시절 말라위 및 남아프리카공화국에서 지냈으며, 남아프리카공화국 소재 트바테르스란트 대학교에서 유럽 언어 및 문학 학사, 동대학원에서 석사를 취득했다.

Prior to this position, Marian served as the Deputy Country Director of WFP in the Kingdom of Lesotho. She first joined WFP as a South Korea Junior Professional Officer (JPO) in 2003 and dedicated her WFP career for 18 years in both Rome HQ and field operations: as the Special Assistant to the Regional Director in Sudan/South Sudan (2005 – 2011), as the Senior Policy Officer and Team Leader in the Government Partnerships Division, WFP headquarters (2011 – 2013), and then as the Special Assistant to the Assistant Executive Director for Operations Services (2014 – 2017). She grew up in Malawi and South Africa, and achieved her Bachelor and Master's degree in European languages and literature at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.
