Biography
Jong Nam Oh is the 13th president of the Human Development Institute. Since he retired from public service in 2006, has been serving as a senior advisor at Kim & Chang, consulting for global, regional, and national business leaders while teaching at Seoul National University. Oh is the Chair of the Board of Directors at Standard Chartered Bank Korea and Scranton Women's Leadership Center. He is also the President of Junior Achievement (JA) Korea which educates the youth on work readiness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. He served the Korean government for more than 30 years (1975-2006), working mostly at the Economic Planning Board, Ministry of Finance and Economy, Office of the President (“Blue House”), and Statistics Korea. He was also the Executive Director of IMF and UNICEF Korea, a Board member of GM Korea, and Chair of the Board at Samsung Securities Inc. He earned his bachelor of law from Seoul National University in Korea, and an M.B.A. & Ph.D. in Economics from Southern Methodist University in Texas, USA.
