Biography
Jung Hae IL(Maj. Gen.) took office as the President of the Korea National Defense University(KNDU) in 2021 and currently wearing double hats while serving as the Director-General of the Research Institute for National Security Affairs(RINSA) at KNDU. President Jung graduated from the Korea Military Academy(#46, 1990), received an M.A. in International Politics from Bond University, Australia(1995), and completed a Ph.D. degree in International Politics at Kyungnam University(2007). In addition, he broadened his international sense and knowledge as well as academic expertise in the field of defense and security through the US Joint Staff College(2003) and the EU Security Orientation Course(2006) at the Netherlands Defense Academy(2006). His major careers include various practical responsibilities at top national security organizations such as the Presidential Security Adviser to the Blue House, Military Adviser to the Defense Minister, Head of the Military Strategy Division of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Director of Policy at the Combined Forces Command(CFC). In recognition, he was awarded the Presidential Citation for Contribution to Overseas Dispatch and the Lebanon Silver-Star Service Medal. Before joining the National Defense University, he served as the ROKA TRADOC Commander.
