유희석 상무는 현재 SK임업에서 자연기반해법을 기반으로 기후변화와 환경, 지속가능한 발전 그리고 남북협력 등의 다양한 분야에서 업무를 추진하고 있다. 유희석 상무는 동국대학교에서 마케팅 석사를 취득하고 2001년 SK임업에 입사하여 22년간 HR 업무를 비롯하여 친환경 연료인 우드펠릿 사업을 추진한 경험이 있고, 베트남 꽝찌성 행복프로그램, 튀니지 코르크참나무숲 복원사업, 우즈베키스탄 나보이지역 조림사업 등 다양한 ODA 사업을 추진한 경험이 있다. 최근 국내에서는 산림을 통한 ESG 경영의 일환으로 탄소중립 산림협력사업을 추진하면서 Carbon Platform 구축을 통해 탄소사업을 확장해 가고 있으며, 그룹의 Net-Zero 달성을 위해 해외에서는 REDD+ 사업을 추진하여 탄소배출권 확보뿐 아니라 지역주민 생활 수준 향상을 통한 사회 발전과 지역주민 역량강화를 위해 노력하고 있다.

Hee Suk, Vice President of SK Forest, is in charge of driving various business operations with nature-based solutions, in particular dealing the issues such as climate change, sustainable development and environment protection. He received the Master of Business in Marketing from Donnguk University and working experience was started with human resources development and broadened his career to green ODA project development such as ‘Mangrove reforestation in Vietnam’, ‘Oak forest restoration in Tunisia’, and ‘Plantation dry area in Uzbekistan’ for the last 22 years. Recently, he expended his expertise to promote forest carbon business as part of ESG management through sustainable forest management and building a carbon platform in Korea. Also, he devotes himself to REDD+ projects development to secure forest offsets to achieve SK Group’s Net-Zero Target in 2050 as well as to enhance capabilities and local livelihood improvement in developing countries.
