Biography
1994년 대한민국 정부의 무상원조기관인 한국국제협력단에 입사한 후 개발도상국의 빈곤감소 및 지속가능한 발전을 지원하는 국제개발협력 업무에 종사해오고 있다. 민간협력팀장, 전략기획팀장, 다자협력인도지원실장, 역량개발부장, 지역총괄실장, 미얀마사무소장 등을 역임했고, 피지, 베트남, 미얀마 해외사무소에서 근무를 했다. 2021.7월부터 현재까지 개발도상국의 기후변화 대응 및 감염병 위기 대응 지원, 녹색기후기금(GCF) 인증기구 업무 등을 총괄하는 기후감염병위기대응실장으로 일하고 있다.
Youn Soo Lee, since 1994 when she joined the Korea International Cooperation Agency which is the Korean government’s grant aid agency, has been engaged in international development cooperation to support the poverty reduction and sustainable development of developing countries. She served as head of NGO Team, Strategic Planning Team, Multilateral Cooperation & Humanitarian Assistance Department, Capacity Development Department, Country Program Planning & Coordination Department, and Country Director of KOICA Myanmar Office. She also served in KOICA’s overseas offices in Fiji, Vietnam and Myanmar. Since July 2021, she has been working as Director General for Climate Crisis and Pandemic Response Department, responsible for support for climate change and pandemic response of developing partner countries and KOICA’s engagement with Green Climate Fund as an accredited entity.
