Biography
오영훈 제주특별자치도지사는 1968년 12월 14일 대한민국 제주 서귀포시 출생으로 2006년부터 2011년에 걸쳐 두 차례 제주특별자치도 의원을 지냈고, 2016년 4.13 총선을 통해 국회에 입성, 제20대, 제21대 국회의원을 지냈다.
국회의원 임기 동안 더불어민주당 원내부대표와 원내대변인, 제주특별자치도당 위원장, 정책위원회 상임부의장, 더불어민주당 이낙연 당대표 비서실장으로 역임했다.
국회의원 재직시절, 지역 현안에 많은 관심과 노력을 기울이며 저돌적이면서도 부드러운 카리스마를 지녔다는 평을 받았다.
그리고 2022년 제39대 제주특별자치도지사로 당선되어, 위대한 도민 시대 사람과 자연이 행복한 제주를 위해 도정을 운영하고 있으며 제주 도민의 삶의 질을 높이는 데 앞장서고 있다.
Young Hun served as a member of the Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Council from 2006 to 2011. In 2016, he won the general election and became a member of the 20th and 21st National Assembly. During his term, he served as the deputy floor leader and floor spokesperson of the Democratic Party, chairperson of the Democratic Party Jeju Chapter, deputy speaker of the Democratic Party Policy Committee, and chief of staff at the Office of the Democratic Party Leader Lee Nak-yon. Governor Oh, during this time, is remembered as a person with daring yet soft charisma who was dedicated to resolving local problems.
He was elected as the 39th Governor of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province in 2022, and is currently committed to increasing the quality of life for Jeju people and ultimately, making Jeju a place of happiness for nature and people.
