Biography
Dr. Min Hong is a Director of the North Korean Research Division, at the Korea Institute for National Unification (KINU). He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Dongguk University. Dr. Hong was a member of the Policy Advisory Committee of the National Security Office, Ministry of Unification, and Ministry of National Defense, and a standing member of the committee of National Unification Advisory Council. His main research areas are North Korean politics, society and culture, North Korean everyday life and urban studies, and denuclearization and peace of the Korean peninsula. His publications include Cooperative Security and Peace Economy Linkage Plan (2020), North Korea's Development Strategy and the Peace Economy (2020), A Survey of North Korea's Socio-economic Change: A Comprehensive Analysis of Marketization (2018), and Kim Jong-un Regime’s Six-year Reign from the Perspective of Governing Technology and Cultural Politics (2017) (all in Korean).
