Biography
Dr. Tae Yong Jung is a professor at the Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) and Deputy Executive Director of the Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS) at Yonsei University. He received his Ph.D. from Rutgers University, USA, in 1991 and was a member of senior fellow and director at Korea Energy Economics Institute (KEEI) until he joined the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), Japan, as a project leader for the climate policy project in 1999. Before he joined IGES, he was a visiting fellow for the Kyoto Institute for Environmental Studies (KIER) and a joint research fellow for the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) in Japan. From December 2005 to June 2007, he was a senior energy economist at the World Bank. In 2007, he was the principal climate change specialist at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and deputy executive director for the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) in Korea from 2010 to 2012. He became a professor at the KDI School of Public Policy & Management in Korea after leaving ADB in 2013 and joined Yonsei University in 2015.
