Biography
정-폴 아담은 2020.2월부터 UN 아프리카경제이사회 기술·기후변화·천연자원관리국 국장직을 맡고 있다. 본직을 맡기 전, 아담 국장은 2015년 세이셸 해양 공간의 30%를 보호하는 기후변화 적응 스왑을 위한 부채 관련 협상을 진행하고 세이셸이 해양채권(Blue Bond)을 세계에서 첫번째로 발행하는 과정을 이끄는 재정·통상·청색경제 장관직을 수행하였으며, 이외에도 세이셸 외교부 장관(2010-2015), 보건부 장관(2016-2019)을 역임한바 있다.
Jean-Paul Adam is the Director for Technology, Climate Change and Natural Resources Management in the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (since February 2020). He previously served in several Cabinet positions in the Government of Seychelles including Minister of Finance, Trade and the Blue Economy (2015-2016) where he negotiated a debt for climate change adaptation swap in 2015 which placed 30% of Seychelles oceanic space under protection, and launched the process for Seychelles to become the first issuer of a Blue Bond. He also served as Seychelles’ Minister of Foreign Affairs (2010-1015) and Minister of Health (2016-2019).
