Biography
문상원은 서울대 노어노문학 학사, 보건정책학 석사를 취득하고, 2004년 대한민국 원조기관인 한국국제협력단에 입사하여, 사회적가치혁신팀장, 농어촌개발팀장, 기획조정팀장, 미얀마사무소 부소장 등을 역임했으며 현재 동남아시아2실장으로 근무하고 있다.
그는 2012년부터 개발도상국 빈곤감소 및 농촌개발에 대한 솔루션으로서 한국의 새마을운동을 주목하였습니다. 2013년 그는 코이카 새마을운동 개발협력 프로그램을 기획하였으며, 2014년 부터는 미얀마 새마을운동 프로젝트를 직접 프로젝트를 성공적으로 기획 관리하였습니다. 그 공로로 2015년에는 새마을운동 유공 국무총리 표창을 수상하였습니다. 그의 주된 연구분야는 새마을운동의 핵심요소인 경쟁, 사회적 자본, 마을지도자 리더십과 마을개발의 성공과의 관계를 미얀마 새마을운동 프로젝트를 통해 검증하는 것입니다.
Moon Sangwon has been with KOICA(Korea International Cooperation Agency) since 2004. He is working as a Director General of Department of Southeast Asia Ⅱ.
He worked as a Director of ESG & Innovation team, Rural development team, Planning & Coordination team as well as a Senior Deputy Country Director, KOICA Yangon Office.
He majored in Master of Public health (M.P.H.) and Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Russian and Russian Literature, Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea.
He has a much interest in Rural development based on Korean “Saemaul Undong(SMU)”. He made a “KOICA Global SMU Plan” in 2013 and managed SMU project in Myanmar(23mil., 2014-2020) in Myanmar successfully. He received a Prime Minister’s SMU commendation for contribution to Global SMU in 2015.
His major research areas is on study on the determinants of community development in Myanmar rural area : focus on the SMU principle(Competition, Social capital, village reader).
