Biography
곽부성은 1969년 6월 21일 대한민국 부산 출생으로 연세대학교 행정학과 및 서울대학교 환경대학원(도시계획학 석사)을 졸업하고 국내 다수의 금융기관에서 도시 및 지역개발 관련 해외투자 전문가(특히 베트남 투자)로서 활동하다가 2016년부터 새마을재단 베트남사무소에서 새마을운동 세계화사업에 전념하고 있다. 베트남 경제 및 지역개발 분야에서 쌓은 오랜 경험을 바탕으로 베트남 농업 및 농촌개발에 적합한 현지화된 새마을 세계화 사업 추진체계를 정립하여 많은 성과를 달성하였으며, 베트남 중앙정부 농업농촌개발부를 비롯하여 8개 지방정부와 돈독한 거버넌스 관계를 유지하고 있으며 호치민국립대학교 및 타이응웬국립대학교와 협업하여 다수의 국제포럼을 개최하고, 새마을 관련 연구논문 및 책자 발간에도 참가하여 새마을운동을 세계로 전파하는 데 기여하고 있다.
Kwak Busung was born on June 21, 1969 in Busan, Korea. After graduating from Yonsei University(Public Administration) and Seoul National University's Graduate School of Environmental Studies (Master of Urban Planning), he worked as an overseas investment expert (especially Vietnam investment) in many domestic financial institutions. Since 2016, he has been concentrating on the Saemaul globalization project at the Saemaul Foundation Vietnam office. Based on long experience in Vietnam's economic and regional development fields, he established a localized Saemaul globalization project execution system suitable for Vietnamese agriculture and rural development, and achieved many achievements. Also he maintains a nice governance relationship with Vietnamese central government(Ministry of agriculture) and 8 local governments, and hold a number of international forums in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh National University and Thai Nguyen National University, and participates in the publication of research articles and books related to Saemaul, contributing to spreading the Saemaul Undong to the world.
