Biography
Kyungyeol Song received a Ph.D. in Aeronautics & Astronautics at MIT and an M.S. and B.S. in Aerospace Engineering at Seoul National University, Korea. He is currently an Associate Principal at McKinsey and Company Seoul Office. He is a leader of McKinsey Energy Center. He has deep expertise in global renewable energy/cleantech (solar, wind, battery, LED, electric vehicle) and the conventional energy industry (oil, gas/LNG). He is serving Korean/Asian leading players on various topics in the conventional/renewable energy industry, including solar, wind, battery/storage, and shale gas strategy/LNG business strategy/gas-to-chemical business strategy. Amid his recent research projects, he has developed a strategy for a global chemical company to grow the solar energy industry in all parts of the value, including market assessment, entry strategy, evaluation of M&A and JV/alliance options, and support of deals.
