Biography
Masato Noda is an Associate Professor of International Development, at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Global and Local Environment Co-creation Institute (GLEC), at the National University Cooperation, Ibaraki University, Japan. He is also a Visiting Associate Professor, at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the University of Tokyo. His current research topics are SDGs and human security, particularly under the COVID-19 pandemic. For more than a quarter of a century, he has been actively involved in the Japan Society for International Development (JASID) as the secretary general, the executive director, and the chair of ‘The Sustainable Development and SDGs' research group. In addition, he also has working experience for the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan International Cooperation Agency, and civil society.
