Dr. XUE Chen is a Research Fellow at the Institute for Strategic Studies and a fellow at the Center for Maritime & Polar Region Studies, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS). He is also a council member of the Shanghai Society for People’s Friendship Studies (SSPFS). Joined in SIIS in 1994, Dr. Xue focused on Asia-Pacific and American Studies. Specifically, he’s been working on the Korean Peninsula and East Asia maritime security with Chinese and English publications and policy reports, which won a number of social scientific awards in China. Dr. Xue is often invited to give commentaries on China’s mainstream TV programs such as CGTN and Phoenix TV. He got his Ph.D. at Fudan University and is also an alumnus of Johns-Hopkins Nanjing Center.
