WOO Changyoun completed his Ph.D. program at Seoul National University in 2002 and is currently chairman of the Korea Universal Design Association. After obtaining a license as an architect in 1993, he carried out many architectural design works, including the Hyundai Industrial Development Office building and the Park Hyatt Hotel. As first-class disabled person with severe disabilities, they tried to spread universal design that was safe and convenient for anyone to use in the fields of transportation, cities, and products, including architecture. It was responsible for establishing universal design guidelines for the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and LH. The Seoul Metropolitan Government proposed the Framework Ordinance on the Creation of Universal Design Cities in 2016 and played an important role in the launch of the Seoul Universal Design Center in 2020. It also conducted research on the Universal Tourism Facilities Certification System (2019) and the establishment of a smart architectural information system for the transportation vulnerable in transportation (2020).
