Biography
Sugawara MAIKO was in charge of lectures on space design, urban planning, and town development until 2017 after taking office at Toyo University in 2012. In 2018, he belonged to the Danish Architecture Laboratory for a year and studied school facility planning, architecture, and barrier-free universal design of urban environments for disabled students, mainly in Copenhagen. Starting in fiscal 2019, he has been mainly in charge of subjects related to universal design, utilizing his overseas research experience. In the field of research, we are actively conducting research on a barrier-free universal design of architecture and streets, as a community development for the disabled, as well as school facilities and educational environments for the disabled.
