Jong Seok Lee is a senior fellow at the Sejong Institute in Seoul and a distinguished professor at Yonsei University. He served as Minister of Unification and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Security Council of South Korea. From 2003 to 2005, he was Deputy Secretary-General of the National Security Council. He has published numerous books in Korea on North Korea and North Korea-China relations.
