Biography
SHIN Jung-hwa has been a professor at the Department of International Relations, University of Dongseo since 2007. She received her PhD in law(major: political science from Keio University, Japan in 2000. Previously, she was an associate professor at the Department of Policy Studies, Miechukyo University in Japan(2003~2006) and a visiting researcher at the Sejong Institute(2002).
Her main major is Japan's policy toward North Korea, and recently, she has been studying the characteristics of South Korea-Japan relations and the South Korea-North Korea-Japan triangular system, focusing on the politics of security. Her books include the publication of the 2004. The Japan's Policy toward North Korea 1945-1992. Orm Press, and recent papers in 2019. " 'New nation-building' by Moon and Abe: the spread of distrust and conflict” (The)Korea Journal for Japanese Studies 50. She is now serving as a Vice Chairman of the Korean Association for Contemporary Japanese Studies(KACJS), a private member of the Inter-Korean Relations Development Committee of the Ministry of Unification, and a director of the Korea Peace Forum.
